common prayer

'love one another and you will be happy.'
it's a simple and difficult as that.
there is no other way.
AMEN

Alas, it only truly works if everybody does it.

I can't think of anything more painful than unrequited love.

why not just 'Love one another and you will be'

Why not love one another and you will be happy? Love works when one loves without expectation or attachment to result. I really think God has nestled joy in the heart of unencumbered love as a jewel to surprise and delight us. Look at the eyes of the real lovers of the world -- Ghandi, Mother Teresa for example -- there, in the midst of all the awareness of suffering is the glow of joy.

i like much of what has been said, thank you

i put the prayer out there in cyber space purely because it describes to me the sheer nightmare and joy of the juxtoposition of what love truly is and what happiness just might not be...

grace for your journey's wherever they may lead...
