In the Arms of the Angels...

...'in this madness, this glorious sadness', i wonder just what does bring us to our knees.......the wreckage must be bad when this is the only way some find comfort...

Sarah Mclachlan's lyrics really strike a chord today.
When you are furiously seeking comfort, when all your efforts seem in vein, when you just can't be good enough, what then? Where is the escape? When does the peace come?

I am envious of those who find a way..whatever it may be.

I don't know... sometimes desperation can be an auxilary to courage.

This looks like a picture taken at the World Trade Center tragedy. I was in NYC that day. I saw it happen. Those suicides were a choice in how immediate death death was to happen. I believe that given the choice, these people would have certainly had the courage to live. That was simply not an option. Now, perhaps this is not a WTC photo -- but it brings up that clear memory in me....

it is the wtc on that terrible day - and i do believe given the choice these people would have chosen to live....sometimes we just don't have a choice...it's shit i know but we don't

A photographer came to the WTC every day for months after "the" day, taking pictures as a journal of the time immediately following. He had no funds to do so...he just felt compelled every day to be a witness of what happened. When asked why he said that he could not avoid it -- that when he saw the tragedy happen ..."It ate my eyes."

moments eat away at us, sometimes our eyes, sometimes our heart, sometimes our memory, sometimes our very being...

somethings leave us never the same again...
