How bloody fortunate we are...

"I thought I had worried about everything. I never thought my son would be killed at school."

Words from the mother of Hassan Abdulamir who was killed in his classroom at Dijla Elementary School in Baghdad last week. 64 children have been killed at school since November last year...dozens of teachers have died too...sobering isn't it...

'War! What is it good for? Absolutely nothing! say it again...'

I am beyond finding words to describe how I feel about this "war" we find ourselves in. Is there a word for that deeply sick feeling in the very pit of one's soul? Our so-called leader actually made a statement to the effect that people "should try and not focus on the violence, but instead look for the good." That's right, just ignore this little girl's face and think how much better she'll eventually sleep. Sick, I tell you... it makes me so sick and weary...

I agree, I was travelling with Jim Wallis recently in Ireland and I know the large majority of people in your country feel the same...I'd have Blair and Bush in a headlock over Iraq...what was it a certain carpenter said regarding how we treat children?
